2015 Hyundai Tucson
The all-new 2015 Hyundai Tucson fuel-cell-powered version, will be released in the next year. This model will retain the existing look, ie. will not get significant design changes. New 2015 Tucson should be the first hydrogen-powered vehicle, which is mass-produced. This company expects in the future to produce about 10,000 of these vehicles a year.
One of the problems in the sales of these vehicles could be temperature. The new 2015 Hyundai Tucson FCEV can not function normally in temperatures ranging from minus 4 to 104 degrees (-20 to +40 Celsius). Because of this, it will be available only in carefully selected markets. Its fuel economy is fantastic. The EPA fuel economy is rated at 71 mpg in combined driving, which is really fantastic.
The 2015 Hyundai Tucson engine has 134 hp and its proprietary system features a modular stack that converts hydrogen to electricity in order to power the crossover’s engine. Its top speed is around 100 mph, and from 0 to 62 mph speeds in less than 13 seconds.
The hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles will certainly represent the future, and thanks to the good fuel economy, more and more companies will produce them in the future. Also, Toyota has announced its Hydrogen Fuel Cell Car, which will be based on the FCV-R concept, and will come in 2015.
However, the question is how much buyers are willing to accept these cars. Recall, Honda has the first launched the fuel-cell electric vehicle – the FCX Clarity, however, so far it is sold only 45 units of this vehicle.
