2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Sedan
The all-new 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will hit the market in the middle of next year, and from the pictures of this concept version, we can conclude that it is more elegant than ever before. These are pictures of the concept HND-9, on which will be designed new 2015 Genesis Coupe. There are a lot of changes, and the most noticeable are the extended hood, a classic Hyundai hexagonal grille, and butterfly doors for which we can say that they really surprised us. The new Genesis Coupe with this door has a luxurious look than ever before. We still are not sure exactly what of these changes will get this car for 2015 model year, but all the changes that we’ve seen so far are very positive.
2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Powertrain
This powerful coupe has a stylish design and will be powered by a 3.3 liter turbocharged V6 engine that delivers 370 hp and mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. As a concept, this four-seater 2015 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will feature large butterfly doors that open all the way to the B / C-pillar, although this feature will likely make way for conventional doors in any form production. The 2015 Genesis Coupe will be 4695 mm long and rides on a 2860 mm wheelbase, which is 40 mm longer and 50, respectively, than the current Genesis Coupe.
Also some rumors say that there is a possibility that this coupe gets 5.0 L or even a 5.5L V8 engine which would had even 470 hp, however this is only speculation and no official information from Hyundai about this possibility. Our opinion is that there is very little possibility that these rumors are true.
2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan
It is now known that the new 2015 Genesis Sedan will have its official presentation at the Detroit Auto Show in January next year. This new sedan comes with many design and technical changes. According to the latest reports, this sedan will be available with all wheel-drive. Design changes will be many, and our expectations are that this sedan will be based on the new HCD-14 concept platform. Also, the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis will be the first Hyundai sedan with all wheel-drive.
The new Genesis will now be a slightly larger than Hyundai’s biggest and most expensive sedan, the Equus. A comparison of dimensions between the new Equus and Genesis shows that this concept is 1.6 inches longer than the Equus and 3.3 inches wider.
Hyundai has considered the idea of creating a Genesis sub-brand for more than a year, but the latest reports indicate that this company has given up on that idea. Details are limited, but the main designer of the company Hyundai America Chris Chapman confirmed the news earlier this month. He pointed out that the idea was rejected because it simply was not cost effective enough. Instead, Chapman wants to this company has a pristine cars that will overcome the Hyundai name.
And by the way, JD Power has announced that the Hyundai Genesis won the award for the highest initial quality in the premium mid-size vehicles. This prize is awarded to the JD Power and Associaties Initial Quality Study.
