2015 GMC Canyon Release and Review
General Motors has released the first teaser images 2015 GMC Canyon and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado models. Based on the photos can not conclude much but it is clear that this is a truck’s middle class, which features a prominent grille and rounded hood. GM describes these models as a flexible model that is characterized by good fuel economy and provides a real alternative to the large trucks such as the Ford F-150, Ram 1500 and the Chevrolet Silverado / GMC Sierra, and they will be produced in a factory in Missouri next year . It is expected that these models feature the design already seen in Chevrolet / Holden Colorado models that are already available on the international market.
In the GMC are hoping that the new 2015 GMC Canyon really refreshed mid-size truck market. They mentioned the possibility that Colorado gets new name, however, Chevrolet has given up on the idea. These models will be officially presented next year, and will be available for sale in 2015 year. Production of these models will begin in 2014 at GM’s Wentzville, Missouri, assembly plant. However the exact date of sale and price is still unknown. The design of the model is to be very modern, and also expect to have the best fuel economy in the mid-size truck market.
2015 GMC Canyon Engine
We expect that the new 2015 Canyon will be powered by a new Turbo Diesel engine with 2.5 and 2.8 liters. Each of these engines is designed to deliver durable performance, while a number of long-life engine components help reduce the frequency of maintenance. The 2.8 liter turbo-diesel engine is rated at 180 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque, and the 2.5 liter engine is rated at 150 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. These engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and will have excellent fuel economy.
The very much time has been spent on the design and development of these models, so it reasonably believes that the new Canyon and Colorado will “undermine glory” of the Toyota Tacoma, especially if their price is on par with it.
Update December 20, 2013: The 2015 GMC Canyon is still coming, with many signs pointing toward the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Chicago in January, though that’s still unconfirmed by GMC. Also hopefully this pickup will get its Denali version, which would be released in mid of 2014. There is speculation that the 2015 Canyon starting price would be under $ 24,000. Also it is speculated that the new 2015 GMC Canyon could get its version of the diesel engine. Everyone thought it would be a 2.8-liter Duramax Turbo Diesel. But that certainly will not happen, at least not in the first year of this model.
